We visited Sun Island Resort and Spa in October 2020. The island is beautiful with crystal clear blue water and white, powder sandy beaches. We had a really lovely, relaxing holiday. It is a well maintained resort with excellent service and very friendly staff. We stayed both in a beach villa and then in an overwater bungalow.. Generally the Sun Island Resort & Spa gets favorable reviews, although more mixed than most other resorts in the Maldives. Considering this is the largest and perhaps cheapest of the private-island resorts in the area, the reviews are quite good, but it’s important not to compare it to one of the 4- or 5-star resorts, as it doesn’t match up.
