A masterpiece of organic design, La Chaise was designed in 1948 by Charles and Ray Eames for MoMA’s International Low-Cost Furniture competition. A marriage of technical engineering and elegant form, this striking lounge chair was inspired by Floating Figure, a 1927 sculpture by Gaston Lachaise.

Vitra is the sole authorized manufacturer of furniture designs by Charles & Ray Eames for markets in Europe and the Middle East (for Eames La Chaise: worldwide).Vitra is the Eames Office’s worldwide licensing partner for a number of Eames accessory objects and also holds a worldwide license for the Organic Chair (Design: Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen).. This pattern is a large-scale graphic composition of crosses and dots, reminiscent of Ray Eames’ abstract paintings from the 1930s onwards. In the Eames Special Collection 2023, the blankets are made of 100 per cent Merino wool with a jacquard yarn. The ‘Dot Pattern’ colours are reversed on the front and back.
